MinuteCub Muster

A Cub Scout MinuteCub Muster centers on colonial life, Minutemen, patriotism, fun and the American Revolution.  There are numerous activities, songs, music and discovery making this an event suitable for the entire Cub Scout family.  The MinuteCub Muster anticipates over 2,000 Cub Scouts, 100 Boy Scout assistants and 500 BSA Leaders from across New England.  Reservations are secured by payment and should be made early as this event is expected to sell out.

The registration price is $45 per Minutecub which includes a patch, T-shirt and access to all the events.   There is no fee for leaders or camp followers.  The Muster Store will offer T-shirts for $10 each, patches for $5.00 each, muskets for $20.00 each and tricorn hats for $15 each.  This is a family event.  Saturday evening camping is available at Nobscot Scout Reservation in Sudbury and Camp Resolute in Bolton.

Events

Each Cub or recruit will sign a parchment sheet, mustering into a regiment of the MinuteCubs town. The MinuteCub will be issued a booklet with questions, maps, puzzles and other items to complete at the event. These items highlight various events, places and people during the American Revolution, and the founding of our country.

Highlights include

  • Gunsmith, farmers, joiner and chair maker
  • Customize your tricorn hat during registration
  • Colonial Village Center with miller, seamstress, lace maker and pottery making
  • Learn the manual of arms with Marching
  • Review surgery options and see the surgeons tools
  • Tour a British and Colonial Encampment with soap making and candlestick making
  • Meet a blacksmith and a cooper
  • Work with a tin monger
  • Who were the Minutemen and what did they do for work?
  • Skirmish and tactics between the Minutemen and the British Infantry
  • Conversations with Minutemen, French Regulars, British, Colonial Regulars and others
  • Meet dragoons and learn about horses
  • Tomahawk throwing plus “retreating” with no sound
  • Work with a joiner and cobbler
  • Meet George Washington, John Adams, Benjamin Franklin and other Patriots
  • Various fife and drums, violins, songs. Plus contra dancing for adults
  • Review Bunker Hill, Saratoga, Trenton, Monmouth and Yorktown
  • “We hold these truths to be self-evident…”
  • Take part in border skirmishes, known as a “very large” FOOD FIGHT

A Great Baseball Game and a Night in the Outfield!

The Pawtucket Red Sox are pleased to host the Knox Trail Council Campout at McCoy Stadium. Bring your family, friends, troop, pack, or den to a great fun-filled evening.

Join us for the Paw Sox vs. Gwinnett Braves on Saturday, May 14th.

The campout is a great event for Scouts of all ages. It includes an on-field clinic with members of the PawSox team, ticket to the game, $10 food credit to use at park concession stands, continental breakfast (for those staying overnight), as well as a commemorative patch. The highlight of the evening is the opportunity to pitch your tent in the outfield of McCoy Stadium and the showing of a movie on the right field video board.

2016 Blue & Gold Banquet

Pack 42 will be holding our Blue and Gold Banquet on Sunday April 10 at 1 PM at the Marlborough Fish and Game Club, 1 Muddy Ln, Marlborough, MA 01752. Entertainment for the Scouts will be Lego's provided by Play Well. Food preparation is being provided by Chef Louie's Wood Fire Grill.

Admission is $5 per Adult or sibling (scouts are free, $20 max per family).

Please RSVP to Den Leaders no later than April 1st.

Box sledding

Come and use the sled we created at the pack meeting to sled down the hill!!! Join us on February 14th at Galoni Field over by the baseball diamond at 10am.  We plan on wrapping up by noon.


Museum of Science Overnight

Sign up for this event is through Boy Scout Council with the above link.  If you have earned this overnight through popcorn sales please print out your registration and bring it to the pack meeting for reimbursement.

This is always a fun indoor overnight. Come early and register. Get your parking validated and visit the mall for a while (have dinner) before the programing begins.  A light snack is offered later in the evening of milk and cookies (extra snacks in your pack is not a bad idea). Lights out and a early breakfast and pack up on Saturday.  You are invited to stay the rest of the day and enjoy the museum after your gear is cleaned up.
